RE COGNITION: WHAT IS REAL?

As part of Ars Electronica Export, I co-curated and produced RE COGNITION: WHAT IS REAL? at the Çubuklu Silos Digital Art Museum in Istanbul. Following a restoration project initiated by the Metropolitan Municipality of Istanbul, the once-derelict post-industrial site of Çubuklu Silos was transformed into a vibrant cultural center dedicated to digital arts. In this context, we developed—together with Piksel Creative Solutions—a site-specific exhibition marking the transformation of the former industrial complex into a dynamic cultural hub.

Bringing together nine international and local artists—including Atıf Akın, Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg, Quadrature, Shinseungback Kimyonghun, Theresa Reiwer, and Universal Everything—the exhibition examined how contemporary technologies, particularly artificial intelligence and autonomous systems, reshape our understanding of reality. Through immersive media installations, data-driven works, and AI-based artistic explorations, the project addressed themes of perception, bias, surveillance, ecological responsibility, and the digital reconstruction of life.

As co-curator and producer, I contributed to the conceptual framing, artist coordination and production oversight.
